Chapter Twelve

Brook woke to find that she was alone under the buffalo hide. The sun was beginning to climb higher in the sky. She judged that it was a little past mid-morning. Looking around, she saw that Reckless’ loincloth was gone. As she pulled the hide from her, she saw her husband walking towards their love nest and smiled. Sitting up, she didn’t bother to cover her nudity from him.

As he slipped through the trees, Reckless felt a hot spear of desire knife through his body at the sight of his naked wife sitting cross legged on the blanket. He dropped the rabbit he carried and rid himself his loincloth.

“Hello, husband,” she said with a smile.

Reckless grinned. “Hello, wife.”

“I see you brought breakfast,” Brook said as she feasted her eyes on him. “Are you hungry?”

“Starving,” he said and playfully attacked her.

It was a long time until they had breakfast.
